Play Solana’s Jay shares console launch details, token plans and airdrop strategies live at Solana Crossroads 2025.

At Solana Crossroads 2025 in Istanbul, Jay from Play Solana sat down with Airdrops.com to reveal major updates around the highly anticipated PSG1 gaming console—the first handheld Web3 device built on Solana. From ecosystem expansion to air drops, Jay shared what makes PSG1 a potential game-changer in the blockchain gaming space.

“We already have working prototypes in our hands. We will be showcasing the device live for the first time.”

The PSG1 will make its official debut at Accelerate New York in late May, where users will finally be able to get hands-on with the console. Alongside the hardware, Play Solana is building a broader gaming ecosystem, complete with a validator node, NFT collections (Player One and soon Player Two), and its own play-to-earn game—all tightly integrated with the device.

“Our goal is to create a whole ecosystem—a powerhouse for gaming in Web3.”

The team plans to launch the $PLAY token in sync with the device’s release in late Q2 or early Q3. PSG1 buyers will receive a Genesis soulbound NFT, unlocking exclusive airdrops, quests, and token rewards via the Playex platform. XP points earned through community participation and staking will convert into the $PLAY token, creating an engaging on-ramp for early adopters.

“When you pre-order the PSG1, you receive the PSG1 Genesis NFT... it entitles you to receive all the airdrops.”

Jay hinted at a major wallet integration to be announced soon and teased that top-tier developers and game studios are already porting titles to the device using their SDK. The goal? Offer users a seamless Web3 gaming experience, powered by Solana-native dApps and exclusive content.

“There will be a bunch of games porting to the PSG1… developers will want to be featured.”

Looking ahead, Jay sees the next three months as critical. With the live demo coming in New York, device shipments on the horizon, and the token launch approaching, Play Solana is pushing full steam ahead. The focus remains on delivering quality, growing the ecosystem, and proving skeptics wrong with the tangible, working PSG1 console.
