Samsung is partnering with Solana to introduce USDC-powered international transfers through Samsung Wallet, bringing stablecoin payments to millions of Galaxy smartphone users.

According to an announcement shared by Solana, the service is scheduled to launch in the United States during the final week of October 2026, with an initial reach of approximately 82 million Galaxy devices.

The feature will operate directly within the existing Samsung Wallet application, which already supports payment cards, identification documents and boarding passes.

Instead of requiring users to download a separate cryptocurrency wallet or create an exchange account, Samsung plans to integrate stablecoin transfers into its existing payment interface.

The initial rollout will focus on cross-border remittances, with additional countries expected to follow depending on local regulatory requirements.

Solana Will Power International Transfers

The partnership will use Solana's blockchain infrastructure to process USDC transfers, allowing users to send digital dollars internationally through Samsung Wallet.

The service will include integrated conversion mechanisms for moving between traditional currencies and USDC.

This means users could potentially initiate transfers in their local currency while recipients receive funds through supported payout methods.

Samsung's approach is intended to reduce the technical complexity often associated with cryptocurrency transfers, including managing blockchain addresses and interacting directly with exchanges.

Woncheol Chai, Samsung's executive vice president responsible for its digital wallet business, emphasized the company's goal of making stablecoin technology more accessible to everyday smartphone users.

Meanwhile, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu highlighted the importance of mainstream distribution in expanding stablecoin adoption.

The integration could provide Solana with access to a substantial consumer audience through an established mobile payments platform.

Transfer Fees Remain Unknown

Although Samsung has outlined the launch window and initial availability, the company has not disclosed the fees associated with international USDC transfers.

That leaves an important question unanswered for users comparing the service with banks and traditional remittance providers.

World Bank figures referenced in the announcement place the average cost of sending $200 internationally at approximately 6.36%, significantly above the United Nations' target of 3%.

Stablecoins can reduce certain blockchain settlement costs, but total transfer expenses may still include currency conversion, payment processing and withdrawal fees.

Consequently, Samsung's final pricing will determine how competitive the service becomes compared with existing international payment options.

The company has also not confirmed a detailed expansion schedule beyond the initial U.S. rollout.

Samsung Expands Its Existing Crypto Partnerships

The new feature builds on Samsung's earlier collaboration with Coinbase, which brought cryptocurrency-related services to more than 75 million U.S. Galaxy devices.

Samsung's official announcement also identifies Bastion and Coinbase as infrastructure and custody partners, while both Solana and Sui will provide blockchain network support. Eligible users will be able to transfer USDC to compatible wallets or bank accounts in more than 60 countries.

The company says it will not charge a fee for transfers to compatible wallets, although receiving services may impose charges. Bank-transfer fees will vary by destination, making the final cost dependent on the transfer method.

For Solana, the integration follows growing stablecoin adoption across its network.

According to the Solana Foundation, stablecoin transaction volume exceeded $5.25 trillion during 2026, while stablecoin supply increased nearly 20% year over year.

The partnership places Solana's infrastructure inside a widely used consumer application, potentially expanding access to blockchain payments beyond existing cryptocurrency users.

With the launch scheduled for late October, Samsung Wallet could become a major distribution channel for stablecoin remittances, although actual adoption will depend on eligibility, pricing and user demand.
