Airdrops Rating System - explained

The Airdrops.com rating system is designed to give our users a clear, at-a-glance understanding of how each project compares when it comes to airdrop participation. We rate every listed project across three core criteria—Potential, Credibility, and Simplicity—each on a scale from 1 to 5 stars. These are then averaged into a single Overall Rating.

It’s important to emphasize that our ratings are optimized specifically for evaluating airdrop opportunities, not for making long-term investment decisions. We focus on factors that matter most to airdrop hunters: Is the project likely to succeed and retain value? Can it be trusted to deliver on its promises? And is it worth your time and effort to farm?

Curation First, Ratings Second

Every project featured on Airdrops.com has been carefully curated. If it’s listed on the site, it means we believe it has genuine airdrop potential. The rating system exists primarily to help compare projects—not to validate them.

A lower-rated project isn’t necessarily bad; it may just be less appealing or more complex relative to others. We don’t post low-quality projects. If it’s here, it’s worth a look.

Rating Categories

Potential (1–5 Stars)

This measures the likelihood that the project will grow and sustain its value over time. We assess factors like product-market fit, roadmap strength, ecosystem traction, timing, and general market relevance. A higher Potential rating typically means that any future token distribution could be worth holding onto.

Credibility (1–5 Stars)

This gauges the trustworthiness and reliability of the team and backers. We consider public presence, transparency, past track records, and VC or strategic support. High Credibility projects are more likely to follow through on their goals.

Simplicity (1–5 Stars)

This evaluates how easy it is to participate in the particular airdrop campaign. Some projects have straightforward, low-friction tasks, while others have complex or high-maintenance requirements (e.g., running a node, locking funds, maintaining uptime). We balance effort against time, capital, and complexity.

Overall Rating (1–5 Stars)

The overall score is a simple average of the three individual ratings. Because Simplicity is weighted equally with Potential and Credibility, this final score reflects a project’s suitability for farming—not its overall quality as a standalone investment.

On Subjectivity

Rating crypto projects is never purely objective. Markets move, roadmaps shift, and teams evolve. That’s why our review process involves multiple analysts, each with hands-on experience in DeFi, airdrop strategies, and tokenomics. Every project is discussed internally, and any differences in opinion are resolved through group consensus.

We recognize that these are directional, not definitive ratings—but they are built on years of industry experience and designed to serve the needs of the airdrop community as effectively as possible.
